How do I know if my shock absorber is broken?

Apr 09, 2022

There are four methods:

1. The car performs emergency braking on a safe road at a relatively reduced speed, and observe whether the braking posture of the car is very different from the previous feeling. If the vibration is too large, there is a problem with the shock absorber.

2. Oil leakage. Observe if there is fresh oil on the shock absorber. If there is, the shock absorber has serious oil leakage and needs to be replaced in time. If there is no fresh oil, just some oil stains, it means that it is not serious at this time.

3. When the car is in the stopped state, after the corner of the car body is pressed down and released, the body will rebound under the spring force. If it tends to stabilize soon after the rebound, the shock absorber is normal. If it stops after repeated shocks several times, it means that the shock absorption effect of the shock absorber is poor.

4. Abnormal noise. The abnormal noise of the car generally occurs on non-paved roads or bad roads. Because the chassis can produce noise in many places, it is necessary to confirm that it is the abnormal noise of the shock absorber and then replace it.
